About Carlos X. Díaz
With a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Carlos X. Díaz has been awarded or his contribution to the visual arts and the development of educational and artistic programs for the benefit of individuals in Orlando. From having an Immigrant and Queer-themed statement exhibits, creating a free class installation for the Orlando community, to being awarded the 2018 USCA Official Artist. 2020 Souther Equality Art Grantee and 2018 Unsung Hero by the HIV Planning Council, Carlos Díaz has been committed on producing art that is not only based on in aesthetic value but is also designed to empower disadvantaged communities.
Carlos participated in a number of efforts focused on the visibility of the Querer Boricua community. As a member of the LGBTQ + community and thanks to his development of visual content and design under the position of Social Media Coordinator for QLatinx, Carlitos has been appointed as the HIV Justice Organizer Program. Program designed to fill the need that exists in the Orlando Latinx community for access to a Spanish-speaking campaign for individual education and empowerment, and use of Artistic mediums.
On the other hand, Carlitos Diaz works as a specialist in prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections and has developed a number of outreach strategies for the education and support of the Latinx community of Central Florida. As an HIV testing counselor, he has worked for the benefit of communities affected by mental health and / or co-occurrence of controlled substance use. It has served as a resource to serve the educational need and cultural competence of the most disadvantaged communities.
